Choosing our Focus — How to stay committed while praising God

We can’t control the storm, but we can adjust our sails.
I talk to dozens of people each day and listen to their challenges. Often only hearing negative stories of those sitting in a pool of sorrow not willing to take responsibilities, they can choose to focus on the negative rather than the positive — always having to talk about how others have done them wrong.
You can choose to live in a woe is me attitude. Or you can choose to change it around and focus on the positive things in your life. It may not be easy for some because they’re battling depression, anxiety, or this has been a conditioned response embedded in their subconscious mind of years of complaining and playing the victim card.
Even though that might be the case, you can still choose to bare your burdens and ask your Heavenly Father to lighten them. You can decide to start reclaiming your life as a new person.
Take a moment to think about your verbal actions. Are you constantly trying to find negative flaws in others?
Or are you that person who always tries to bring out the positive in others? Are you counting your blessings?
Or are you counting your burdens?
Granted, there will be times that you need to express your frustration, struggles, etc. If you choose to live in a pool of pity, I will bear your burdens with you and try to offer comfort, but I can’t engage and the continual behavior of negativity.
Our Heavenly Father wants more for you; he wants more for all of us. I will always be inspired by the mantra of; A feeling is a thought, and thought can be changed; it’s how we choose to direct it.
I choose our gospel. I choose love. I choose to share positive messages. What do you prefer?
